In January 2024 I wrote to the City of Holdfast Bay endorsing an extension of the ‘dry zone’ to cover the entire length of Jetty Road and the surrounding side streets. I was pleased that in November the Council announced that the existing ‘dry area’ has been extended.
When he was Police Minister, Peter Malinauskas slashed the operating hours of the Glenelg Police Station and ended Station based foot patrols. Since then, crime and anti-social behaviour around Jetty Road has risen. Since being elected, I delivered increased operating hours for the Station during peak times. We must ensure these increased hours continue.
